The Role

Leadership of the operational and fiscal performance of the transport office. The post holder must control the transport team assisting the transport general manager to enable the transport function to operate correctly.
Ensuring that high standards are attained for all activities within the transport office, providing vision, leadership, guidance and motivation to the team.
Development of staff through communication and coaching to drive and engage a motivated, competent and multi-skilled transport and logistics team.
Ensuring housekeeping standards are to a high level, including the overall site appearance.
Ensuring that Customer relationships are maintained to a high standard and treated as a priority. Customer Service is key.
Working with both internal and external stakeholders to develop new sales opportunities and Customers, supporting when required the preparation of tenders.
Ensure LGV drivers are compliant and are monitored for performance and hours worked. Ensure all vehicles are complaint and are monitored for performance and any damage incurred.
Ensure all POD’s are retrieved and managed as per the business requirements and all fleet is regularly checked for damage/mis-use and is cleaned as required.
With good commercial acumen, you will recognise when investment needs to be made to support profitable business growth and ensure that the necessary resources are in place to enable the delivery of targets.

Evaluating and solving problems, able to provide strong logic and objectively interpret data to establish the key facts.
Thriving under pressure you will be capable of managing multiple priorities and working to critical deadlines and objectives.
Qualification and experience requirements.
A CPC holder
Proven experience within transport management
A charismatic leader in a transport office environment
5 years minimum experience in a similar operation
Experience with Bonded Warehouse and Customs would be beneficial
